De Gruijter & Co. respects the privacy of our customers (shipper(s)) and is committed to its protection.
This notice summarizes our policies and practices.
Examples of personal data (information)
We collect our shipper’s full name, contact numbers, email addresses, residential addresses, passport details and work permits.
Why we collect this personal data
For international shipments, we collect copies of passports and work permits to facilitate customs clearance and delivery.
For domestic moves, we collect details on new residential addresses and contact numbers to enable our team to provide service.
Shipper’s choice and consent
Our shipper, at any time, can decide not to disclose their personal information, or to restrict access to their personal information, or to withdraw their consent for us to use their personal information.
If shipper asks us to withdraw their consent, we will destroy and delete relevant personal information as soon as possible.
How and when we collect shipper’s personal information
We collect information when our shippers request our services.
Our shippers may submit documents with personal data by email, fax and other means.
Use, retention and disposal
We will limit the use of our shipper’s personal information only to enable to provide our services.
We only retain personal data as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purpose for
which the data is to be used.
We will destroy any documents with personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, and applicable laws.
Access
We will limit access to our shipper’s personal data only to our properly trained and authorized employees.
In case a shipper wishes to add or adjust the personal data, the shipper can personally contact (e-mail or phone) his/her move coordinator.
The personal move coordinator will review the data and adjust our system accordingly.
Personal information is never to be sold, lent or leased to third parties.
Disclosure to third parties
We keep our shipper’s personal information confidential but, from time-to-time, we may provide personal information to third parties only for the purposes identified in this notice.
Such third parties may include governmental authorities, Customs brokers, or persons to whom you are required to make disclosures in order to complete customs clearance of shipment.
When we do disclose any of our shipper’s personal information to third parties, we do so under a duty of confidentiality.
Data security
We store our shipper’s personal data electronically and under password-protection.
We only permit our authorized employees to access personal data.
These employees are trained and familiar with De Gruijter & Co. privacy policies.
Accuracy
De Gruijter & Co. commits to maintain accurate, complete, and relevant personal information for the purposes identified in this notice.
If any personal data given to you is not up-to-date or inaccurate, please notify us as soon as possible.
Monitoring and enforcement
We take appropriate actions to monitor and maintain our shipper’s personal data.
We implement and maintain any and all reasonable security measures to maintain the safety of our shipper’s personal data.
We will never use shipper’s personal data in direct marketing, via email, direct mail, telephone and other similar means of communication.
